Kapil's Challenge is all about getting into Kapil's shoes and restricting the West Indies from scoring a pre-defined target. The user gets to selects either an Outswinger, Inswinger or a Straight delivery. The user next has to get his length right by delivering the ball at the perfect spot in the pitch. Each delivery is either hit for runs or could result in wickets. Users also have the option of uploading bowling averages and competing with others via GPRS.

The game starts with the user controlling Kapil Dev as the bowler

At the beginning of the game, the user is given a target within which he has to restrict the West Indies. E.g.: The West Indies need 50 runs to win off the remaining five overs

The user then has to choose a ball to bowl. This could either be an inswinger, outswinger or a straight ball

A bowling meter is then displayed to the user with a static red dot/ line displayed outside the meter. This is the perfect pitch spot

A bar oscillates within the bowling meter. The user has to press FIRE when the oscillating bar inside the bowling meter coincides with the perfect pitch marker outside (red dot/ line)

After the user bowls 6 balls with Kapil, a textual display tells him how many runs were scored of the next over. Thus bringing the bowling back to the user (Kapil).

Overall, the user bowls 18 balls (3 overs) out of the five

At the end of the game, the user’s bowling average is displayed. The bowling average is calculated as runs divided by wickets taken

The top 5 bowling averages are recorded on the phone along with player names

Players can also upload their bowling averages and compete with others via GPRS
